Simultaneous interpretation occurs in real time — the interpreter renders speech into the target language as the speaker talks, with a lag of only a few seconds, typically from a soundproof booth with audio equipment. The audience follows through headsets without any interruption to the event's flow. Consecutive interpretation involves listening to a complete segment — usually one to several minutes — then rendering it while the speaker pauses. No special equipment is required. Consecutive is standard for legal proceedings, bilateral meetings, field visits, and smaller working groups; simultaneous is used for large conferences and events where real-time coverage is essential.

Yes. Remote simultaneous interpretation is available via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Interactio, Interprefy, KUDO, Voiceboxer, and most other major RSI platforms. Remote consecutive is available for video calls and virtual meetings of any size. A pre-event technical check with the platform team is standard practice.

Preparation is a fundamental part of every assignment. Before each engagement, speaker materials, agenda documents, glossaries, and background reading relevant to the subject matter are reviewed. For technical or specialist domains — law enforcement, non-proliferation, financial services — subject-specific terminology is compiled and studied. The quality of interpretation is directly proportional to the quality of preparation; please share materials as early as possible.

Yes. The interpretation record includes assignments for the FBI, DEA, ATF, ICE/HSI, and U.S. Secret Service — contexts where precision under pressure, familiarity with investigative and legal terminology, and discretion are baseline requirements. Confidentiality agreements are available on request for sensitive engagements.

Yes. Jakarta is a regular working location for in-person assignments. Indonesian interpreter services are available for corporate events, government meetings, conferences, and bilateral meetings in Jakarta and throughout the Jakarta metropolitan area.
