These Terms of Use govern your use of this website and the professional translation and interpretation services provided by Mulyadi Subali. By using this site or commissioning services, you accept these terms. Please read them before making contact.

1. About Us

4. Translation and Interpretation Services

4.1 Quotations and project agreements

A quotation provided by email or through the contact form does not constitute a binding contract. A project is confirmed only when both parties have agreed to the scope, rate, and timeline in writing (including by email). Work does not commence until this confirmation has been received.

4.2 Source material

The client is responsible for providing source documents that are complete, legible, and accurate. Where source documents contain ambiguities, errors, or illegible sections, I will flag these before or during the project. Errors or inaccuracies in the source material may affect the accuracy of the translation and are not the translator's liability.

4.3 Intended use

Translation is provided for the purpose specified by the client at the time of commissioning. The client is responsible for ensuring the translation is fit for any subsequent or different use. If the intended use changes after delivery, please contact me to discuss whether the translation remains appropriate.

4.4 Revisions

One round of revisions is included within seven (7) days of delivery, provided the revision request falls within the original agreed scope. Revisions requested outside this window, or that represent a change in scope, instructions, or source material, may incur additional fees. A revised quote will be provided before work proceeds.

4.5 Liability

My liability for any claim arising from translation or interpretation services is limited to the fees paid for the specific project in question. I accept no liability for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses of any kind, including — but not limited to — a rejected visa application, unfavourable court outcome, or commercial loss arising from a translation or interpretation.

4.6 Sworn and certified translations

I hold Sworn Translator certification issued by Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta (Decree No. 1690/2007), which is legally recognised in Indonesia. It is the client's responsibility to verify that sworn translation produced in Indonesia will be accepted by the receiving authority — whether a foreign embassy, court, institution, or government body. For submissions to foreign institutions, apostille authentication or additional notarisation may be required; I can advise on this for specific cases.

5. Confidentiality

All materials provided — whether documents, files, communications, or project context — are treated as strictly confidential. This obligation applies to all projects, with or without a formal NDA. A non-disclosure agreement is available on request for agency partnerships or particularly sensitive engagements.

Contact form submissions are transmitted via Web3Forms and delivered to me by email. For highly sensitive or regulated documents, I recommend using secure file transfer rather than standard email attachments. I can advise on suitable options on request.

6. Payment Terms

Payment terms are agreed in writing for each project. Standard terms are:

  • 50% deposit payable before work commences.
  • 50% balance payable on delivery of the completed translation.

For translation agency clients, terms are agreed at the start of the working relationship and apply to ongoing assignments. Late payments attract interest at a rate of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance. Delivery of the completed translation may be withheld pending full payment.

7. Cancellation

If a project is cancelled after work has commenced, a pro-rata invoice will be issued for work completed to that point. Any deposit paid is non-refundable. If a project is cancelled before work has commenced, the deposit may be refunded at my discretion, depending on whether the project slot has been allocated.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

These Terms of Use and any dispute arising from use of this website or the services described on it are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.
